REJOICE

Strong's Concordance. . . 5463 (Greek)

To be "cheer" full, i.e. Calmly happy, well-off;

be well, farewell, be glad, God speed, greeting, hail, joy(fully), rejoice.

From...die, enjoy, revel

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, REJOICE!

"Alway" means continued, for the duration, regularly and imp. earnestly.

(Re) joice...comes from the French word "ejouir" meaning... glad, happy.

The Lord tells us to "rejoice" twice here. When He tells us something

twice, He means to do it NOW! That it's serious business.

To re-joice means to go back to being glad or happy, being well, cheerful,

and well-off. To "die" to what is making you unhappy would imply to just

stop what is robbing your joy and not allow it to dwell in you. To cast it

upon Him to take care of.

So many times we revel in the negative instead of the positive. For

example...in a marriage that once began in happiness and love, then digresses

to a state of bitterness and hatred, discouragement and sadness. Instead

of reveling in its present state, go back...think back of the time when it

was wonderful. Think on the things that drew you to that person initially...

(re) happy yourself by remembering the good instead of where you are now,

and watch your attitude and demeanor change. Phil. 4:8 tells us to think on

all things just, pure and lovely, and I Thess. 5:16 reminds us to be joyful

ALWAYS, giving thanks in ALL circumstances. When we do this, we will

find that REJOICING isn't difficult at all.
