Redeemed

Strong's Concordance. . .1805 (Greek)

ex-ag-or-ad'lo; to buy up, i.e., ransom; fig. to rescue from loss (improve opportunity):--redeem.

I once belonged to God...sin separated me from God. Jesus, through shedding His blood on the cross, paid the price for every sin I have ever committed.

He rescued me, He bought back my right relationship with God...He paid the required price for sin by His death, for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and the remission of sin is in the shedding of blood (Heb. 9:22). Because of Christ's shed blood, by faith in Him, I've been redeemed!

In this same way, my wedding rings were redeemed once. My husband bought them for me...due to sickness and a great financial reversal, they were taken to a pawn shop, and I lost them. Legally, they then belonged to the pawn shop.

Several years later, the very same rings were for sale and my husband bought  them back. He redeemed them for me! 0:) (True story)

Galatians 3:13,14 (emphasis mine)

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
