Testimonies of God's Awesomeness

Whose Report Do You Believe?

"We need to schedule you for surgery to remove your uterus

tomorrow," my daughter's GYN told her after the tests for

cancer came back positive. "You have number four cancer, and

five is the worst it can get. We have to do surgery immediately

or you may die," he continued. She was stunned. She was only

nineteen years old and had not had any children.

We cried together...and then we prayed. A holy boldness rose

up in me and I became angry at the devil for what he was trying

to do. I rebuked Satan and told him that he was NOT going to rob

me of grandchildren from my daughter, who absolutely adores

children and desperately desired to have some. A peace came

over me and I knew that the Lord had it under control, so in faith I

encouraged her to postpone the surgery until we could pray more.

She called the doctor back and told him that she felt like the Lord

was going to heal her and that she did not want her female organs

removed. He informed her that she was taking her life into her

own hands, but that he would operate to remove the cancer from

her cervix under the condition that if he could not get it all, that she

would allow him to proceed to remove her uterus. He smugly told

her that if God was going to heal it, that He'd need to do it before

he got in there.

We needed confirmation from the Lord. I had encouraged her to

not have the surgery immediately, and if she died because of it, I

knew that I would carry the responsible. As I prayed and went to

God's Word for direction, I read many verses about the healing power

of the Lord.

God is the same today as He was yesterday. He loves us as much

as He loved those that He healed when He lived on the earth. He gave

me faith that He would touch her body, but what about the doctor's

report? I asked the Lord to show me, and He gave me this verse:

Matthew 22:29

You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the

power of God.

Several weeks later when the surgery was completed, the doctor

came from the operating room with a different report:

"I was in error!" said the doctor. "The cancer was much smaller

than it originally appeared to be and I was able to remove all that

was on her cervix. She should be just fine."

She didn't have to have radiation or chemo. One month later she

tested zero for cancer and she has given us two beautiful grand-

children. The cancer has not returned.

Whose report are we going to believe in situations such as this?

The key is to KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt what the Lord's

report is, and then you can stand in faith with peace in your heart.

The three Hebrews thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to

bow down to the golden image, said this:

Daniel 3:17 (Emphasis mine)

Our God whom we serve IS ABLE to deliver us from the burning

fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve

thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

They chose to believe the report of the Lord, and as we know,

they came out of the fiery furnace not even smelling like smoke.

Only the things that had them bound (the ropes) were gone.

I've had lumps dissolve in my breast, after the Lord gave me

peace in my heart that I was not to have surgery. The gift of faith

that He had given me was so strong that I was willing to die if He

didn't heal me. When Queen Esther went in before the king to plead

for her own life and the lives of the entire Jewish race, she went in

knowing that she could have been beheaded, and she said, "If I perish,

I perish." I believe she had the gift of faith operating in her life.

I'm not in any way suggesting that you go carelessly against your

doctor's advice, but I am saying that there are times that God will

tell you, and you know that you know that He has spoken and given

you a good report and the faith to be willing to die if He does not

heal or touch the situation. These are certainly the times to believe

the report of the Lord. God's Word is filled with those who victoriously

overcame the threats of the enemy, through their faith in Him.

Joyously living under His reign,

and continually being rained upon with His love and grace,

R God Reigns n' Rains!

Psalm 103:19 (emphasis mine)

"The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens;

and his kingdom ruleth over ALL."

The following Psalm tells us that our God reigns over the earth;

over ALL, both the good as well as the evil. When He is the Lord of

our life, He rules and reigns over every situation...the blessings, as

well as the frightening experiences. His desire is to rain down His

blessings upon those who allow Him to reign over their life. This

series is about the testimonies that resulted from His grace, and

about those times when I've trusted Him and His Word, and allowed

Him to reign over some unexpected situations that flooded into my

life. May His name be lifted up!

Psalm 93

THE Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;

The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength.

Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.

Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord,

The floods have lifted up their voice;

The floods lift up their waves.

The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters,

Than the mighty waves of the sea.

Your testimonies are very sure;

Holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever.
