"All Shook Up!"....Umm Hmm...Ummm Humm..
Say the words, "I'm all shook up!" and most of us think of Elvis' song and his vibrations, don't we? God wants me to tell you about another shaking of people who are all shook up... a "shaking" that is happening in many lives today and the reason for it.
I rarely have visions...maybe some of you have never ever had one. But the one that I am about to tell you about is verified by the following verses in Hebrews, Chapter 12. In this chapter we are being warned to "strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up..."
From verse one throughout this chapter, God is saying that we need to get right with Him...and at the end, He tells us why. There is going to be a shaking, but it won't be like Elvis shook...it is going to be a shaking and sifting of God's church and the people of the earth.
(Hebrews 12:25-27) "So see to it that you obey Him who is speaking to you. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, how terrible our danger if we refuse to listen to God who speaks to us from heaven! When He spoke from Mount Sinai His voice shook the earth, but, 'Next time,' He says, 'I will not only shake the earth, but the heavens too.' By this He means that He will sift out everything without solid foundations, so that only unshakable things will be left."
As I was praying, in a vision, I saw the hand of God come down with a sifter in it, much like a mesh one I use in my kitchen to strain things. He scooped up (first) what represented people in the church. He shook and He shook... He would look into the sifter and then shake some more. Finally, with sadness in his eyes, He shook one last time, and all that were left in the sifter... those that were hardened by sin in their lives, who could not be sifted into fine powder, He tossed from the sifter into outer space. Then He began with another sifter full and repeated the process until all were shaken.
I then saw two solid rock pillars that reached all the way from the earth into heaven. The earth began to shake violently. As I reeled in the tumult, I managed to grab hold of the two pillars, and that was when I heard His voice say, "When there is a shaking, like an earth quake, why have you grabbed hold of the two pillars?" My reply was, "Because they are the only solid things available." He then asked me, "Do you know what they represent?" I thought that I knew, but I waited for Him to tell me. He said, "One represents My Word (My Son), the other is prayer. When the shaking begins, hold tightly to what is solid...Me, My Word, and communion with Me, and you will be safe."
(IITimothy 2:19) "But God's truth stands firm like a great rock, and nothing can shake it."
After that vision, the shaking in my life began. Nothing but God's Word and prayer brought me through it. Friends forsook me; I found no comfort from my church. It seemed that everything was swallowed up in a great earth quake and I was all alone except for the Lord and the Word. Friends, I'm here to tell you...that's all you need! It frightens me when people write to me and tell me that my lessons are the only Word of God that they get. Where's their personal time communicating with the Lord? Why are they not studying and memorizing His Word?
How are they cleansing themselves from sin without the washing of His Word?
Sometimes we think everything is just fine with our walk with the Lord...we don't even realize it because the sin hassettled deep within us.
We were having problems with the wells in our small town. You could let the tap water sit for a while and see the sediment in the bottom of a glass of water. One day I took the toilet tank cover off and was aghast. There was about a third of an inch of black sludge on the bottom...and it was oily. When I stirred it, the entire tank looked like it was filled with sludge. I called the city, and guess what they told me? Your water is perfectly clean! They couldn't tell me how the dirt got into my toilet tank. "Must have been something you have done, or got in there in the pipes under your house", they told me. They would not take responsibility for what was inevitable.
This is what I see happening today with the church. We're not getting pure water..it's polluted..filth and sin have drifted in and no one wants to take responsibility for it. But, as it was myself that had to make sure our family had pure bottled water to drink, so is it our own responsibility to see that we get the pure Word of God for ourselves. And if we refuse, sin from other sources can filter in...and it may be settled deep within our souls and not obvious at first glance.
God is going to vigorously shake His people, and what will happen when sin muddies the waters until we can't see to be able to reach out to that solid rock? Ask yourself, when tribulations come, will you be broken and softened by Him, or hardened with sin? Will this shaking make you bitter against God, or will you become better because of it? It all depends on whether you know Him, trust His promises, and are in prayer communicating with Him personally each day and living your life for Him. To "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" means to...trust in, cling to, rely upon, and live your life for Him. And when we do that, we have nothing to fear... because the shaking is designed to draw us closer to Him, to cause us to cling to Him as never before, and what a blessing His shaking in my life has been! ... I know Him and love Him deeper than ever before!

God’s truth stands firm like a great rock, and nothing can shake it. It is a foundation stone with these words written on it: “The Lord knows those who are really his,” and “A person who calls himself a Christian should not be doing things that are wrong.”
The Lord watches over all the plans and paths of godly men, but the paths of the godless lead to doom.
You have certainly found favor with me, and you are my friend.
